Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

Wiping his eyes at the thought of soviet Russia gone "atleast we didn't fall to the Germans. That makes it easier to bear.... No not you vladivosto Hahahaha. But how if I've been gone so long am I not old or atleast felt like I've been gone that long?"

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

"That I cannot explain, Dimitri," November replied. "After all, though I am immortal so long as I am not killed, I still experience the passage of time." She sighed. "The world has changed so much since the days of Joseph Stalin. And the Meta War . . ." Her voice trailed off as she recalled that horrible, soul-changing war. "I don't think it really ended."

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

Dimitri looked up a little confused again "When was this meta war? I don't remember such a war. Who fought in it? what's a meta?"

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

November smiled sadly. "It happened during your . . . long sleep," she told him. "Many terrible things happened during that war, and the names of many places changed. A very evil group of people tried to awaken a terrible, terrible evil. A group of people rose up to stop them." November shook her head slightly, to nudge herself out of her memories. "But perhaps that is a story that should be told another time."

Ian covered a yawn with his hand. "If you don't mind, sir," he said, "I should probably rest. I'll be in town for at least a week, if you need to find me."

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

Alex slammed his hands on the desk of the bubbly red head receptionist.

"I understand I don't have an appointment with Mr. Harkonen, but I know that he will want to see me."

The receptionist stopped running her emery board over her finger nails and smacked on her gum. She rolled her eyes and looked at Alex annoyed.

"Look, like I said: Nobody gets to see Mr. Harkonen without an appointment as long as I'm here..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the receptionist along with her desk were transported out of the room right in front of Alex. He hadn't worm holed her anywhere dangerous, or at least he had hoped. As far as he knew the location of the X-Mansion was just as untouched in this world as it was in his or at least that is what he would tell himself.

With the obstacle out of the way he opened the doors to Chronos Harkonen's office and walked in like he owned the place. From behind the desk Chronos raised an eyebrow at Alex and waved off the two suits that were showering him with facts and figures.

"Alex my boy, good to see you. I trust you had a talk with your friend."

Alex sat down in the chair across from Chrono's desk and put his feet up on it. He noticed a very well built man about his own age start towards him, but Chronos waved him off. The bodyguard had spiked blonde hair, almost in a military cut and a wave tribal tattoo on the left side of his face.

"I did and we are both on board, for now at least."

Chronos stood up from behind the desk, without taking his eyes off of Alex's boots.

"Excellent, then welcome to the team."

He motioned to the young man standing next to him.

"This is Alastor Cromwell, my lead bodyguard and head of my private military. He will accompany you on your first mission with a strike team."

Chronos extended his hand for Alex to shake, but the young warrior stood up and gave the man a smile.

"That's great that you think I need help, but frankly I'm not a puppy sitter. Just contact me when you need me, this is how you'll reach me."

Alex tossed a communicator on the desk and gave Chronos a two fingered wave as he did a wormhole back to the appartment.

Chronos looked at the communicator and then to Alastor. Immediately the young man began to glare at his master.

"I don't think we need him, he is rash and impulsive and will ruin the plan master."

"That is where you are wrong Alastor, he is exactly what this plan needs."

Chronos sat back down in his chair and spun around to look out the vast window that overlooked Crossroads. His fingertips were pressed against each other and a smirk came across his face as he thought of what Alex will bring to his...experiment.

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

Kiran nodded towards ian and stood. he arched his back and groaned. 900 or so years tend to make one stiff, regardless of immortal status. "well then i shall bid you good evening... oh before i forget." he reached into his coat and pulled out a cell phone and tossed it to ian. "my numbers on spped dial, use it if you need to reach me. and whatever you do don't lose the phone. it has a direct link to my... well hideout is as good a term as any. it's on a closed circut so that phones the only way to reach me, toodles" with that he slipped out the door and headed down into the lobby.

He bade a quick farewell to hermes and his secretary and headed out to his bike. he was just kick starting the engine when his com picked up a faint message over his secure line. "... Kiran this is Zion, do you read?" he quickly tapped the reciever on his goggles causing the mike to pop out. "Yeah i read, how the hell did you tap my secure line?"

"Alien Technology...look where are you at?" He said as he made a Bee Line for Kiran's Home. His Gauntlets had recorded the location, and were mentally guiding him as he flew.

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

Ian stared at the phone for a minute before setting it down on the nightstand. He wouldn't use it actively; as always, he would respond if called. Settling against the wall between the bed and the nightstand, facing the door, he fell into a light, meditative doze.

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

dimitri settled himself into November's lap "so what are we going to do now? I don't much know of this new place and neither does vladivosto."

Godfrey stepped out of the cab and walked into the airport Why am i going on this wild goose chase? Maybe I should just find something interesting for the next few years. North America sounds like a good place to do that. Godfrey walked into the airport and got a ticket for north america, the receptionists didn't really like the fact that he was buying last minute and upped his price 68 dollars but money was of no matter to godfrey he had been collecting it for hundreds of years now he waited only 20 minutes for the jet liner to arrive he sat in the firstclass cabin and munched on some peanuts while he waited for the rest of the passengers to load up.

Re: Cross Roads, A world of Heroes

November smiled indulgently at the little boy. "Places do not really change, tovarish," she said. "People come and go, and time may change the way things look, but places themselves remain the same." Sighing slightly, she looked up at the sky. "Perhaps we can go look for my old friends from the war."
