Re: what book are you reading????

I just finished Star Wars, Legacy of the Force: Invincible.

It was okay, in terms of Star Wars it didn't seem to be anything spectacular.  Unless you've been reading the whole storyline, I honestly would pass on it unless you get it on sale like I did.

Like a bad case of Norwegian Wood.

I'm still reading Otherland Vol. 2 by Tad Williams.

It's an interesting story, but VERY VERY long.  And he switches from place to place a lot...

Re: what book are you reading????

That series is freaking weird (not to say it ain't good, just.. weird).

In the meantime, I've been reading the Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher.  I'll say this much, the man has his pacing down to an art form.  There's a good mix of wit, sarcasm, and mystery.  Suspension of disbelief isn't terribly difficult, and he's thus far (I'm in the middle of book four) I've really come to enjoy the series.  My pal burned off her copies of the tv show, but I'm afraid to watch it after hearing her chatter about it...

To get the full story of this you REALLY need to start at the beginning of the series....with Twilight CheesyI'm not saying anything to spoil it for would be readers apart from this

Bitten by Kelley Armstrong.

Werewolves. modern world. Sex. Death. serial killers. S+M. Idiots. and general people without a good grip on reality.

I recomend it for anyone with a slightly twisted sense of humour.

Re: what book are you reading????

I been reading the books from the Legend of Drizzt sets, from Forgotten Realms. I dunno why, but I've never read them before, and a friend convinced me to pick them up. Started with the Dark Elf trilogy, moved on to the Icewind Dale trilogy. I'm currently working on the third and final set of the books. I think I'll try picking up more Forgotten Realms books after this to see if I can find any particularly good reads.

I'm just a big fan of books with DnD-style adventures. ^.^;

Re: what book are you reading????

2666 by Roberto Bolano. the first (and only time) i perused the new york times review i saw this novel as highly recommended. Since i rarely read contempoary literature and since i wanted to look classy reading a New York times recommended book, i picked it up (something i've learned: 900 page behemoths don't make you look as classy as you'd think). INteresting book so far, but with all the reading i'm doing for classes, i doubt i'd be able to finish in four weeks before i have to turn it back in to the library.
