I Am America (And So Can You!)

Hilarious.

haha... anything stephen colbert must be hilarious and more so now that he's running for president.
book that i'm reading: The Death of Ivan Ilych and other stories by Leo Tolstoy. Yes, Crime and Punishment was dead awful to get through but these stories are amazing. what's more amazing is the fact that a lot of it can be easily related to our life and society today. Certainly stories that transcends time.

You've Got to Read This
edited by Ron Hansen and Jim Shepard
A bunch of authors assembled their favorite short stories into an anthology. Some are great, some are crap, but there's certainly a good deal of variety.
Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies
by Jared Diamond
A few years later than everyone else read it, I expect, but these things happen.
A People's History of the United States
by Howard Zinn
Because I like unorthodox retellings of history.
Physics and Philosophy
by Werner Heisenberg
I'm curious what this guy had to say on the topic.

I just re-read one of my favorite "comfort" reads. series actually. "The Southern Vampire Series" by Charlaine Harris. Features a character by the name of Sookie Stackhouse, and is set in a very small town in northern Louisiana. I like these books because they are pretty well written, the characters remind me of folks I could know back in my own hometown. These books are more in the mystery with a sci-fi element (vampires/ shapeshifters, etc) and a dash of romance. I highly recommend these books.

I got three more Horus Heresy books the other day. I started the series way out of order with the third and then the second, so I bought the first, fourth, and the Fulgrim side-story to compensate.
Right now, I'm knee deep in Horus Rising.

I finished MTG: Lorwyn a few days ago, haven't picked up anything new. I've been putting off reading MTG: Odyssey.

I'm wanting to pick up Automated Alice by what's-his-face. Eh. I still have a couple of unread books lying around here. I should probably start on those before I begin new stuff.
