Perfume, a story about a murderer. great effing movie and creepy as hell. the ending was kinda overdone in a sense but i couldn't see it going any other way, if you know what i mean. if you like the strange, watch it.
Zizi, you know it's based on a book? The author is Patrick Süsskind. See if you can find it translated, it's totally worth a read.
will do. must finish the book i'm on first tho. i have a nack of not finishin books.
movie i saw recently... actually it was an anime mini series called elfen lied. it was rather good but me being a girl and the fact that most anime i end up watching depict as the desirable girl as someone stupid but cute almost like a dumb pet, kind of upset me at times. meh. but it's japan and that's never gonna change.
before that series, it was nightwatch which is russian and it's an awesome movie!!! totally worth it and i'm soo gonna see the second n third in the series.

Nightwatch! I wanted so badly to see that! Glad to hear it's worth its salt.
I watched Elfen Lied, and I could see you being a little upset about it. Not the most flattering portrayal of women, to say the least. I'm loathe to admit I loved the series.
Just watched the German film
The Lives of Others
(Das Leben der Andere), and it was amazing. Really damn amazing. There's...not much more I can say. I had high expectations (this, after all, is the film that beat Pan's Labyrinth for the best foreign film Oscar) and it totally met them. I must admit, amazing and beautiful as Lives of Others, I still would have chosen Pan's.
Both are A+ films, though, and that's all that really matters. The more good movies in this world the better.

Hot Fuzz wasn't a let down. I was surprised to find the plot as something to actually get into, something i rarely ever see in a comedy. was refreshing to watch something different and interesting to see how foreigners depict the American action cop genre.
beating up old people with high powered weapons was never more humorous.

Jeez I've seen so many movies lately:
Fist of Fury- Classic Bruce Lee
Death Sentence- I liked the story..
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie- Capped off my Cowboy Bebop marathon with the movie. Twas spectacular.
Shogun Assassin- Another classic.
Star Wars Ep. 4, 5, & 6- Watched the whole trilogy today... will probably watch 1-3 tomorrow.
And too many more to remember. I've been on a movie spree.

rewatched Shawn of the Dead recently (because of the enjoyment of Hot Fuzz). "Kill the Queen!" love it.
also wachted again The Italian Job because it was on tv. I kept noticing how huge Mark Wahlberg's (sp??)amrs were. seriously. how big do his arms really need to be?

The Italian Job was SO good! I need to see that one again. It goes along with like Ocean's 11, Fight Club, all those greats.

Reviving this, because I've seen one GREAT movie yesterday.
Across the Universe takes a stance on Vietnam and life during the 60s in general by using Beatles songs. So, yeah, it's a musical.
So, f-ing what!? It's great.

watched Child's play a few days back. though seeing the famous chucky doll cussing people out and killing unsuspecting victims made me chuckle more than it scared the crap out of me, it has more horror movie qualities than the bloodbath horror movies like Saw and Hostel.

I seem to recall someone mentioning that movie to me a while back.
I watched Session 9 earlier. Had it on the hard drive for a little while now. Best movie EVAR. Until I watch something better anyway.

Two movies today.
'From Hell,' followed by 'Bicentennial Man.'
Both have their critics, but I think both are amazing movies in their own right. And I really don't care what the critics say anyway.

Watched Hot Fuzz, Transformers, and Knocked Up over the last few days.
Movie goodness right there. We had not gotten to watch many movies of late and I enjoyed the movie time.
