Our New Orleans Fund, SCD's means of helping the devistation

Star Cross'd Destiny is starting a donation drive to help the efforts of rebuilding New Orleans. Instead of donating to the Red Cross or Salvation Army, I've decided for our part, to donate to the United Way of the Greater New Orleans area, which will help in the rebuilding of the community and the city. The drive will last from September 10 until October 15 at which point all funds collected will be given to the New Orleans United Way in the name of Star Cross'd Destiny and its readers to specifically help local angencies rebuild the city and its people.

A couple of options for those of you who want to donate:

1. Total Donation - use the links below for Paypal to this special account and simply put New Orleans Donation in the description.

2. Prints - Below is a list of all the small prints I have available. Each depict New Orleans in the background as it was before the hurricane. All the profits of these prints go into that fund. They come signed of course and are a $15 donation, that's with shipping included.

I've listed how many I have of each. If you're going with print donation, post in here first so I can make sure I have that print still available. If it goes well I can try to get more in but I'm making nothing on these prints so bare that in mind. ^_^ Just mention which one you'd like in the box and don't forget to include your shipping address.

Took me a while to really decide what I wanted to do and what was the best way to help but this whole thing has been really hard on me. In the end I wanted to help the city specifically. Being the daughter of someone who works for the United Way I know for a fact where this money's going so I feel the most confident in decision.

I would like to have a "Beautiful in Heaven" print as well, but when I clicked the paypal link, there wasn't a note box to specify which print I wanted, just the option to include the shipping address or not.

Also, for people who pre-ordered, could there be a way to ship the print along with the book? That would save lots of shipping, meaning more money to help New Orleans to get back on its feet.

Komotheit - unfortunately the books are shipped in boxes that are too small to hold these prints so shipping would actually increase if I were to send them with the books. In the end I'm paying for the shipping outta my own account so when I say shipping included, it is not coming out of the funds designated to go to New Orleans. Every cent that can go there, is going there.

There's no description or note box?! GAH! Stupid thing! I'll fix that ASAP.

Double post but so far we have a total of $175 dollars so far! GUYS!!! :wub: You are AWESOME. I know we can help. I'll fix that Print donation button tonight. I'd love to raise at least $1000 for this if not more. Aww - I could seriously just cry. In all this hell, there is hope and such good people out there. Thanks guys.
