I know, I keep making random topics and I swear I'll stop soon. D:

So I wanna do some Louisiana cons, but I'm lookin' at their business FAQ and it looks a lot more complex than "Go to Comptrollers, get number. Pay taxes by January 20th." I know some of you guys sell in a lot of different states, so does anybody know what registering with Louisiana entails? When/if IDs ever expire? I'm on a page called "Application for Louisiana Revenue Account Number." Is this the number I should be applying for?

From personal experience...

1. In order to get put on annual reporting, you must go into one of the regional offices - in person - and ask for it.  No doing it over the phone.

2. You will start out on monthly reporting, and Louisiana will send you a letter every month.

3. Start here:
http://www.revenue.louisiana.gov/sections/business/intro.aspx

4. If you don't currently have any Louisiana tax IDs, you don't need to fill in that section

5. You must know your NAICS code.  Google it - there are sites that will help you figure it out (just don't choose the first one without looking to see if anything fits better.
